Review Summary
Healthy Brunch Restaurant
ONE Nation is a restaurant in Munich between Karlsplatz and Lenbachplatz, best suited for brunch, bowls, wraps, smoothie bowls, coffee, and fresh drinks. After visiting several times, the strongest points were the fresh ingredients, the wide vegetarian and vegan selection, and the modern setting inside a MINI showroom. Bowls, wraps, pistachio croissants, banana bread, and smoothies were the most satisfying items. The weak points were also clear. Weekend brunch hours brought long waits, and I once waited more than 20 minutes even with a reservation. Service was mostly friendly, but it changed from visit to visit. I usually paid between €10 and €30 per person. With drinks and dessert, the bill reached around €30–40 per person.
Food and Taste
Bowls
The bowls were the strongest food category at ONE Nation. Dragon Bowl, Korean BBQ Bowl, Vegan Boss Bowl, Power Bowl, and Breeze Bowl were fresh, colorful, and filling. When dining in, the portions were usually generous, and the toppings were presented well. I paid around €14–16 for a lunch bowl, which was acceptable when the portion was large and the ingredients were fresh.
Not every bowl was equally good. The Falafel Bowl had dry falafel, and the seasoning was too light. The yogurt sauce also needed a better balance. Some bowls had too much sauce, so the fresh ingredients were overpowered. A bowl with peanut butter was too sweet for my taste. The takeaway bowl felt smaller than the dine-in version even though the price was the same, so the value was weaker for takeaway.
Wraps
The wraps were a safer choice during my visits. The Crispy Chicken Wrap and Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap were well filled and easy to eat. The Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap had a pleasant spicy taste and worked well when I wanted something more casual than a bowl. I usually paid around €10–20 for a wrap. With a drink, the meal often stayed around €20.
There were weaker moments too. One Korean Chicken Wrap tasted rather bland and did not have the sweet-spicy flavor or crunch I expected. Some chicken dishes were acceptable but not especially memorable. If I recommend only one wrap, I recommend the Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap. It has more flavor and works better as a full meal.
Brunch Dishes
Avocado Bread and Egg Benedict were the main brunch dishes I remembered most from ONE Nation. The Avocado Bread was fresh, generously topped, and much more filling with an extra poached egg. The Egg Benedict tasted good, but it was not a classic Egg Benedict. It was closer to avocado bread with poached egg. For brunch with coffee, I usually paid around €20–30 per person.
Shakshuka was the most inconsistent dish. On one visit, it was small but tasty. On another visit, it tasted more like heated pizza sauce with eggs, oregano, spinach, and feta. The expected Middle Eastern flavor was missing. On one visit, the eggs were overcooked and dry. I do not recommend Shakshuka as the first choice here.
Desserts and Drinks
The pistachio croissant was one of the best sweet items I tried at ONE Nation. It was fluffy, rich, and paired very well with coffee. Warm banana bread was also very good, especially after brunch. Coconut cake was a good sweet option too. With dessert and a drink, I often paid around €20–30 per person.
The drink menu included coffee, latte macchiato, blueberry matcha, smoothies, protein smoothies, fresh juices, and homemade lemonades. Coffee and orange juice were consistently good. Smoothie bowls and protein smoothies were fresh and filling. The matcha, however, was pale and weak on one visit. The detox drink with lime, cucumber, and mint was not balanced enough. Coffee was around €3.80–4.50, and smoothies were around €7–8.50. Plant-based milk cost extra, which was disappointing.
One Dish Recommendation
Dragon Bowl Choice
If I had to choose only one dish at ONE Nation, I recommend the Dragon Bowl. It shows the restaurant’s strengths best: fresh ingredients, good presentation, enough volume, and a healthy meal style. For a spicier choice, I recommend the Korean BBQ Bowl or the Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap. For a lighter breakfast, I recommend Avocado Bread with extra egg. For dessert, I recommend adding the pistachio croissant.
Price and Payment
Cost per Person
ONE Nation is not a cheap restaurant. For a simple bowl or wrap, I usually paid around €10–20. With a brunch dish and coffee, the bill was around €20–30 per person. When I ordered food, dessert, and drinks together, I paid around €30–40 per person. When the portion was fresh and generous, the price made sense. When the portion was smaller or the sauce balance was off, the price felt too high.
Payment Method
I paid at the restaurant after eating. Card payment was available, and the payment process itself was easy. When the restaurant was busy, paying also took a little longer. One negative point was that an extra egg was still fully charged even after I complained about the egg quality. At this price level, it is better to check the dish details carefully before ordering.
Waiting Time and Reservation
Weekend Brunch Wait
On weekdays or during quiet hours, I sometimes got a table without waiting. On some visits, the food arrived in about 20 minutes. Weekend brunch was different. I once waited more than 20 minutes despite having a reservation. On a Sunday afternoon, the table wait was also long. The restaurant works better for two or three people than for a larger group.
Table Situation
The indoor area is fairly spacious, but table space becomes limited when the restaurant is busy. On one visit, three people had to sit at a two-person table. That was not comfortable for a group. Without a reservation, getting a good seat depends on luck. For a weekend visit, I recommend booking ahead and allowing extra time.
Staff Friendliness
Friendly Service
The service was friendly on many visits. Some staff explained the menu well and accepted special requests. Dietary restrictions were handled politely. Visiting with a child was also comfortable because a high chair and an extra spoon were provided. Service was available in German and English, which is helpful for travelers. A takeaway order was packed carefully on one visit.
Service Differences
The service was not consistent every time. On some visits, the table service was very kind, while the reception was unfriendly. On one visit, I felt pressured to leave the table earlier. When the restaurant was full, eye contact, clear guidance, and calm service were sometimes missing. ONE Nation is stronger for food than for service. During peak weekend hours, I would not expect perfect attention.
Atmosphere and Seating
Inside the MINI Showroom
ONE Nation is located inside a MINI showroom. That is what makes the place unusual. On the first visit, it felt more like a car showroom than a traditional restaurant. Eating among cars, modern interiors, and open space is memorable. For photos and a different brunch setting in Munich, this is a clear advantage.
Mixed Atmosphere
The showroom setting is not ideal for everyone. Anyone expecting a cozy, classic brunch restaurant may be disappointed. There is a lot of movement inside, and some seats feel like a dining corner inside a car dealership. The red windows were tiring for the eyes on one visit. The music and large screens can also become distracting during a longer stay. It worked well for laptop work on quiet days, but not when the restaurant was full.
Parking and Restroom
Parking
Parking was difficult. Paid street parking and paid parking lots are available nearby, but finding an empty spot is not easy. Because the restaurant is in central Munich, public transport is the better choice. Walking from Karlsplatz or Lenbachplatz is the most convenient option.
Restroom
Restrooms are available. The restroom is downstairs, so reaching it takes a bit of effort. Anyone using a stroller or wheelchair should check the restroom access before visiting. On some visits, the restroom was clean. On another visit, the women’s restroom was not clean enough. This point was not consistent.
Pros and Cons
Pros
The biggest advantages of ONE Nation are the healthy menu, the large vegetarian and vegan selection, fresh ingredients, and attractive presentation. Bowls, wraps, smoothies, juices, coffee, and desserts give plenty of choice. When the service is good, the visit feels welcoming. English-speaking service is also helpful for travelers. The location between Karlsplatz and Lenbachplatz is practical for shopping, a break, or a short stop in the city center.
Cons
The main disadvantages are waiting time and inconsistent service. I had to wait even with a reservation. Food did not always arrive at the same time. Some staff members were not friendly enough. Some dishes felt too expensive for the portion size. Shakshuka, some chicken dishes, matcha, and the detox drink did not convince me. The car showroom atmosphere also divides opinions. Not serving tap water was another negative point.
Satisfaction and Revisit
Overall Rating
My overall rating is 4 out of 5. ONE Nation is very good when the right dishes are ordered. Dragon Bowl, Korean BBQ Bowl, Korean BBQ Chicken Wrap, Avocado Bread, pistachio croissant, and banana bread are items I would order again. I would not order Shakshuka or matcha again here.
Revisit Plan
I would visit again, but not during peak weekend hours. ONE Nation works best for me on a weekday, in the morning, or shortly before lunch. I recommend reserving for two people and arriving by public transport. ONE Nation is best for people looking for healthy bowls, wraps, smoothies, and brunch in an unusual Munich setting.
Location Description
From Karlsplatz
From Karlsplatz, walk toward Lenbachplatz. Oberpollinger, Gloria Palast, and the large intersection near Lenbachplatz are useful landmarks. Near Lenbachplatz, look for the MINI showroom area. ONE Nation is located inside that area. On a first visit, it is better to look for the MINI Pavilion rather than a classic restaurant entrance.
Around Lenbachplatz
From the Lenbachplatz stop, use the intersection toward Pacellistraße and Herzog-Max-Straße as orientation. There are several cafés and restaurants nearby, so it is easy to walk past. Remembering that ONE Nation is inside the MINI showroom makes it easier to find. The location is practical when visiting Karlsplatz, Oberpollinger, or the city center.
