Short Visit Summary
Review after several visits
Pasto München is a practical Italian restaurant near Munich Central Station. After several visits with pizza, pasta, gnocchi, salad, tiramisu, beer, and soft drinks, my main impression is clear: the restaurant offers generous portions, fast service, and good value for the location. Pizza and pasta are the strongest choices here. It is a good stop before a train ride, after arriving in Munich, or during a short break near the station. The current on-site condition may be different now.
Best fit
I recommend Pasto München to travelers who want a warm and filling meal near Munich Central Station without spending too much time or money. It is a good choice when you want pizza or pasta instead of heavier German food. This is not a refined Italian fine-dining restaurant. It is better understood as a casual, central, and affordable restaurant for a satisfying meal.
Waiting Time Reservation Visit Time
Lunch and dinner wait
At lunch, I usually got seated quickly. Dinner was also manageable, but the restaurant can fill up depending on the time. Since it is close to Munich Central Station, travelers and local guests come in throughout the day. Food generally arrived fast during my visits. Pizza and pasta were served warm, which made the restaurant useful even when I had limited time before moving on.
Reservation
A reservation was not always necessary. For one or two people, a spontaneous visit worked well. For groups of three or more, a reservation is a better choice during busy hours. Weekends, event periods, and football nights can make the restaurant louder and more crowded.
Cost Payment
Price level
The price level was fair for a restaurant near Munich Central Station. A simple meal usually stayed around €10–20 per person. With drinks, dessert, or extra dishes, the cost can move higher, but it still felt reasonable for Munich. The portions were large enough to leave full.
Multiple dishes
Pizza, pasta, fries, tiramisu, beer, and soft drinks offered good value together. Two main dishes with drinks also felt fair considering the portion size. Pasto München works for a quick lunch, a late dinner, or a casual meal before a train ride.
Payment method
Card payment and mobile payment were available. Credit card and Google Pay worked during my visit. Cash payment was also possible. I recommend checking the bill before paying, especially when ordering several drinks or extra dishes.
Parking Public Transport
Parking
Pasto München is not ideal for drivers. Paid street parking exists nearby, but finding an empty space can be difficult. The area around the station is busy with traffic and pedestrians. Public transport is the better choice.
Public transport access
The restaurant is very convenient by public transport. S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, regional trains, and long-distance trains are all nearby. ZOB München is also within walking distance. This makes the restaurant especially useful for travelers with luggage or a short stop in Munich.
Food Menu Review
Pizza
The pizza was large, thin, and usually crisp. Margherita was simple and well-balanced. The crust worked well with beer. Spicier options such as Diavolo had stronger seasoning and suited people who like salty and spicy flavors. If you are sensitive to salt, I recommend asking for a milder version when ordering.
Döner Pizza
Döner Pizza was one of the more memorable dishes. It was filling, savory, and different from a classic Italian pizza. The crust was a little dry during one visit, but the overall dish was still enjoyable. One pizza is enough for a full meal for many people.
Pasta
Pasta was the safest choice for me. Carbonara was creamy and rich. Arrabbiata had a pleasant spicy kick and felt less heavy. Aglio Olio was simple but satisfying. Bolognese had a deeper meat sauce and worked well for a filling lunch. The pasta was generally cooked well, and the portions were generous.
Creamy pasta
Creamy red sauce pasta with chicken was smooth, hearty, and flavorful. The sauce was generous, so the dish felt quite heavy. I recommend pairing it with a salad or a cold drink. If you want a lighter pasta, tomato-based options or Arrabbiata are better choices.
Gnocchi and tortellini
Gnocchi was soft and held the sauce well. Gorgonzola sauce worked especially well for anyone who likes a strong cheese flavor. Tortellini was also satisfying and made a good alternative to pizza or regular pasta. These dishes are good choices when you want something soft and hearty.
Salad
Arugula salad and chicken salad worked well with pizza and pasta. The fresh ingredients made the meal lighter. For a group visit, I recommend ordering one salad to share because pizza and pasta can be quite filling on their own.
Fries
The fries were crisp on the outside and soft inside. They came well with mayo and ketchup. They worked as a simple side dish with pizza or beer. They are also good for children or for sharing.
Tiramisu
The tiramisu was much larger than expected. The cream was soft, pleasantly sweet, and not too heavy. It was a good finish after pizza or pasta. If I had to choose only one dessert at Pasto München, I would choose tiramisu.
Drinks
Beer was served cold and matched the pizza well. Coke also came cold. Helles, Radler, or a simple soft drink completed the meal nicely. Coffee or cappuccino also worked well after eating.
Staff Friendliness Seating Atmosphere
Staff service
The staff were generally friendly during my visits. They explained dishes, gave recommendations, and handled foreign guests comfortably. English was possible, which helped a lot as a traveler. When the restaurant was full, it sometimes took longer to get attention again.
Seating and atmosphere
The restaurant is small and simple. It has indoor seats, bar seats, counter seats, and outdoor seating depending on the weather. The lighting was warm, and the atmosphere was casual. On football nights, the place became livelier and louder. For a quieter meal, an earlier visit is better.
Restroom Cleanliness Convenience
Restroom
A restroom was available inside. It was clean enough and convenient to use during my visit. Near a major station, this is a useful advantage because you can combine a meal with a short break.
Cleanliness
The tables, dishes, and dining area were generally fine. The interior is simple rather than modern or luxurious. The restaurant is better for quick and comfortable dining than for a long special evening.
Pros Cons Satisfaction
Pros
The main pros are location, price, portion size, and fast food service. Pasto München is very convenient near Munich Central Station, serves large plates, and brings warm food quickly. Pizza, pasta, gnocchi, and tiramisu are the strongest recommendations. Friendly service also made several visits pleasant.
Cons
The main cons are noise, parking, and limited space. When busy, the restaurant can feel tight and loud. Some dishes can be saltier or heavier than expected. With large luggage or a bigger group, seating can be less comfortable.
Overall satisfaction
My overall satisfaction was high. Pasto München is not a fancy Italian restaurant for a special occasion, but it is a very useful place for good, quick food near the station. Pizza and pasta are the safest choices.
Revisit intention
I would visit again. It is especially useful before a train ride, after arriving in Munich, or when I need a warm late meal near the station. For a first visit, I recommend Carbonara, Arrabbiata, Margherita Pizza, Döner Pizza, and Tiramisu.

From Munich Central Station
Pasto München is close to the northwestern side of Munich Central Station. After leaving the station toward Arnulfstraße, the restaurant is easy to reach on foot. Nearby landmarks include ZOB München, Augustiner-Keller, Stachus, and the Old Botanical Garden. This makes it easy to combine the meal with a train, bus, or short walk in the area.
Nearby plans
The location works well after arrival, before hotel check-in, or before a train or bus departure. It is also a practical food stop before heading toward Stachus or Lenbachplatz.
