Review Summary
Deli Bros is a sit-down restaurant at Frankfurt Airport near Terminal 1 Area B, and it is a good option for a proper meal before a flight. I visited several times and tried breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, and drinks. The best dishes were the German sausage plates, Scandinavian Connection breakfast, pasta, veal escalope, steak, and venison goulash. If I had to recommend only one dish, I recommend the True German plate with sausages, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut. Prices are clearly airport-level. A simple breakfast came to around €10–20, pasta or sausage dishes usually came to around €20–30, and meat dishes with drinks often came to €30–50 or more. The weaker choices were burgers, some curry dishes, and a few soups. Service was mostly friendly, but it became slower during busy times.
Overall Impression After Several Visits
A Proper Sit-Down Meal Before Flying
Deli Bros is closer to a full restaurant than a quick takeaway spot. During my visits, it worked well when I wanted to sit down, eat properly, and take a short break before boarding. Morning visits were quieter, while lunch and dinner periods were busier.
The menu is wide. There are breakfast plates, German sausage dishes, pasta, schnitzel, steak, curry dishes, soups, coffee, beer, and wine. That makes it useful during a layover or before a long flight.
A Restaurant Where Menu Choice Matters
Deli Bros is not equally strong across the entire menu. German classics, pasta, and selected meat dishes were much better than burgers and some curry options. Ordering the right dish matters here.
The staff were mostly friendly and quick. The weaker points came during rush hours and at payment, where the tipping moment felt uncomfortable once.
Food Review by Menu
True German Sausage Plate
If I had to recommend only one dish, I recommend the True German plate. The sausages were savory, the mashed potatoes were soft and filling, and the sauerkraut balanced the richness of the meat. This was the most satisfying dish for me at Deli Bros.
With a drink, this type of meal usually came to around €20–30. With beer or an extra item, the total was higher.
Scandinavian Connection Breakfast
The Scandinavian Connection breakfast came with toast, smoked salmon, egg, butter, and mustard-dill dip. The toast was crisp, the salmon had a bold flavor, and the dip matched it well.
I recommend this breakfast when you want something lighter before a flight. It came to around €10–20, and coffee added a little more.
Frankfurt Connection Breakfast
The Frankfurt Connection breakfast included bread, meat, cheese, and vegetables. It was a good morning plate with enough variety. I recommend asking for hot sauce on the side because it gives the dish more flavor.
This breakfast came to around €10–20. With coffee or juice, it was enough for a pre-flight meal.
Italian Connection Omelette
The Italian Connection omelette was soft, warm, and filling. It came with toast and butter, and the portion was good for breakfast.
The bread items were not always as strong. Toast and croissants were dry on some visits. The omelette itself was still a safe choice. Omelette, tea, and pastry came to around €10–20.
Pasta
The pasta was better than expected. The gorgonzola pasta with spinach, walnuts, and sun-dried tomatoes had a rich sauce and a good mix of ingredients. It was better than typical airport pasta.
One time, the pasta should have been hotter. The flavor was good, but the temperature was not perfect. Pasta with a drink came to around €10–20.
Veal Escalope and Schnitzel
The veal escalope was a good meat dish. The meat and potatoes were both well prepared. Schnitzel with potato salad also tasted good, although the portion was not large for the price.
These dishes came to around €30–40. Before a long flight, they are worth considering if you want a real meal.
Steak
The steak was well prepared, and the potato side worked well with it. The fries were crisp on one visit, and the salad rounded out the meal.
Steak came to around €40–50. With wine or dessert, the bill went higher. If you want a meat dish at Deli Bros, I recommend steak over a burger.
Currywurst and German Classics
The currywurst was stronger than expected. The sauce had enough flavor, the sausage worked well with it, and it paired nicely with beer. Other sausage dishes were also reliable.
Depending on the order, these dishes came to around €10–30. German sausage dishes are one of the safest choices at Deli Bros.
Venison Goulash
The venison goulash cost €24.90. It came with red cabbage and dumplings. The sauce was rich, the meat had good flavor, and the dish was warm and filling.
At €24.90, it is not cheap, but it was a good airport dinner.
Burgers
I do not recommend the burgers. The Deli Burger cost €25 and did not justify the price. The patty lacked flavor, the texture was weak, and the sauce did not stand out.
The Crispy Chicken Burger also was not strong enough. I recommend choosing True German, pasta, schnitzel, or steak instead.
Curry Dishes and Vegetarian Options
The chicken curry was fine on one visit, but on another visit it lacked seasoning and had too little chicken. The Wok-Gemüse cost €18.90. The ingredients were fresh, but the taste was mild.
There are vegetarian options such as pasta, salads, omelettes, and wok dishes. Deli Bros works when you need a vegetarian option at the airport, but it is not my first choice for vegetarian dining.
Soups and Sides
Potato soup and pumpkin soup were good warm options. Chicken broth was simple and comforting. Asparagus soup was too salty on one visit.
The best sides were mashed potatoes, fries, and sauerkraut. The mashed potatoes were especially good with the sausage dishes.
Coffee and Drinks
Coffee and cappuccino were good for an airport restaurant. Fresh orange juice matched breakfast or pasta well. Beer and wine worked well with the German dishes.
Coffee alone came to around €1–10. With food and drinks, the bill usually moved above €20.
Price and Payment
Price Range
Deli Bros is expensive, but it matches airport pricing. Breakfast usually came to around €10–20. Pasta and sausage dishes often came to around €20–30. Meat dishes were usually around €30–50.
The Deli Burger cost €25 and was not a good value for me. Venison goulash cost €24.90, and Wok-Gemüse cost €18.90. With wine or dessert, the bill can easily go above €50.
Payment Method
I was able to pay by card and cash. Card payment worked smoothly. I recommend checking the bill before paying, especially when ordering several drinks.
The tipping moment felt uncomfortable on one visit. The staff were mostly friendly, but the payment experience should be more relaxed.
Waiting Time and Staff Friendliness
Waiting Time
Most of the time, I was seated quickly. Drinks often came within a few minutes, and many dishes arrived within 5 to 15 minutes. That is important before a flight.
During busy times, the wait was longer. Once, it took around 15 to 20 minutes before the order was taken. Another time, the food took almost 30 minutes. If boarding is close, allow extra time.
Staff Friendliness
The staff were mostly friendly and attentive. Some staff gave helpful menu recommendations, English service was easy, and indoor service was usually quick.
During busy periods, service became weaker. Drinks and payment took longer, and the tipping moment was not always comfortable. Overall, service was still one of the stronger points of the restaurant.
Pros and Cons
Pros
The biggest advantage is that you can get a real meal inside the airport. True German, Scandinavian Connection, pasta, veal escalope, steak, and venison goulash were the strongest dishes. The menu is broad enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The atmosphere is also good for an airport. You can sit down, eat, drink, and take a break before flying.
Cons
Prices are high. Burgers are not a strong choice. Some dishes were under-seasoned, too salty, or not hot enough. During rush hours, service can slow down.
The tipping moment at payment was uncomfortable once. If you do not have much time, I recommend ordering a quick dish.
Satisfaction and Revisit Intention
Overall Satisfaction
Deli Bros is one of the better restaurants I have used at Frankfurt Airport. The best dishes are German classics, pasta, and selected meat dishes. Not every dish works, but the right order gives you a good meal before a flight.
Would I Return?
I would return to Deli Bros. For a short stop, I would choose coffee, breakfast, or pasta. With more time, I would order True German, veal escalope, or venison goulash. If you need a filling meal near Terminal 1 Area B at Frankfurt Airport, I recommend Deli Bros.
